At the Take Out Gourmet case you will discover restaurant caliber Take Out Gourmet with imagination and good taste. There will be fresh salads, homemade soups, and entrees to eat in Picnic Hill’s Cafe or to take out to dine at home.

For those familiar, this recipe was inspired by the Russian Tea Room in New York City. All of the familiar flavors are still there, up front and center, for you to enjoy served on a bed of organic spring greens with your favorite crackers as an easy and light appetizer or to slather on a slice of freshly baked pumpernickel or rye bread for a sandwich that’s impossible not to love.

TARRAGON CHICKEN SALAD
This soon to be Picnic Hill classic is made with lightly poached breast of all natural chicken, celery and onion. The almonds add a little crunch and texture, and the tarragon and vermouth infused sour cream mayonnaise dressing add a delicious French twist. This recipe was inspired by the chicken salad featured at the iconic West Point Market, formerly in Akron, Ohio.
CAROL’S PASTA SALAD
The salad, has wholesome and colorful ingredients that provide real flavor and is just delicious! The starring cast of colorful, health-supporting vegetables includes broccoli florets, beans, sweet red bell pepper, artichoke hearts, jumbo ripe California black olives, and Picnic Hill’s oven-roasted tomatoes tossed together with bowtie pasta and dressed with classic Italian vinaigrette.

If you need to get dinner on the table in a hurry, Picnic Hill’s chicken pot pie is the place to begin! It’s as cozy and comforting as it gets and it’s our best take, with a twist, on the American Classic with a buttery flaky crust and a savory creamy filling with tender all natural chicken, leeks, mushrooms, carrots and peas with fresh tarragon and a splash of sherry.
A healthier take on our classic lasagna, instead of meat we have subbed in a mix of mushrooms, zucchini, and spinach. Layered together with ricotta cheese mix and our homemade marinara sauce.
Our tasteful take on the classic Italian-American dish that brings together all of the things we love in a good pasta dish: noodles, cheese, and fresh herbs with a delicious Bolognese sauce. It’s just like Nonna made and ready when you are to bake and serve with our instructions.
